The main purpose of this blog will be about quilting, but also a little bit of everything along the way. You may find anything from posts about family, recipes (because we LOVE food!), to all things children. I may also be able to get my mom to make some random posts once I get this thing up and running!
My mom and I in the fall of 2012.
In the meantime, be looking out for new posts on this blog that will hopefully be all awe-inspiring hit in the blog world before long! God Bless!! :)
Okay, here goes....let me start by giving praise to the Lord for providing me the blessing of passion and the ability to get to do what I love. I can remember the first time I ever saw a quilt. I was about eight years old and my best friend had a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt on her bed....I'd never seen anything so precious and pretty! I always had a store bought quilt around my home but never handmade. As time passed raising my own children and they began setting out on their own, I wanted to make a quilt for each of them so they'd have something I pieced together just for them. My husband bought me a starter sewing machine and I accomplished making each of them a quilt...this is where my American dream began......I would take my quilts to Miss Lorena for quilting. She had two long-arm machines and I so much hoped to someday have my own as well. I am so blessed with a husband who could see my dream...on a December day in 2012 he drove me to Wisconsin ahead of incoming snow to pick up my very own Tin Lizzie long arm machine and frame and hauled it home. He tore down the dividing wall in our basement and that's where my dream was becoming a reality......
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you, mom! And I'm glad that I have the opportunity to share this journey with you!
ReplyDeleteGood start on the blog. I will show how to navigate the dashboard and start new posts this weekend. I think you will also come to love sharing your passion for quilts in the blogging world more than facebook. I'll also help you get some posts built up and a schedule going. :)
Welcome to the Blog word ya'll. Mom will enjoy reading about your adventures. I post to my blog daily and I don't get to read any others but I am sure Mom will try to keep up ...
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by! I worked on gathering some blog ideas and posting schedules when I wasn't busy quilting and spending time with the family this weekend. The next post will be up by the end of the day.
